* Brazil’s national civil aviation agency (Anac) has announced that the Argentine subsidiary of JetSmart has become the latest low-cost airline to receive permission to operate in Brazil. JetSmart, which is owned by US private equity firm Indigo Partners, will operate international flight routes between Brazil and Argentina. Anac notes that JetSmart is the fifth airline to come to Brazil since the deregulation of luggage allowance earlier this year, and that three international low-cost companies have already begun operations– European airline Norwegian, Chile’s Sky Airline, and Argentina’s Flybondi.
