In brief: Mexico’s trade deficit narrows

* Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released new figures which show Mexico’s exports in July 2019 reached US$39.3bn, up 7% on the same month in 2018. Meanwhile imports in July 2019 totalled US$40.4bn, up 2% year-on-year. This has left a trade deficit of US$1.12bn, down from US$2.87bn in July 2018.
