In brief: Brazilian oil production up 7.8% in July

* Brazil’s national oil and gas sector regulatory agency (ANP) has released figures for national oil and natural gas production for July. Oil production totalled 2.78m barrels per day (bpd), an 8.5% increase on production in June and a 7.8% increase on total production recorded in July 2018. Natural gas production totalled 124m cubic metres per day (m3/d) in July, which represents an 11.7 % monthly increase and a 7.1% increase year-on-year. Overall, oil and gas production in July totalled an average 3.56m barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed). Brazil’s state-owned oil company Petrobras, which was responsible for 92.9% of the country’s total oil and gas production in July, has since announced record figures for production in August, at 3m boed for the month.
