Fuerza Popular (FP, Fujimoristas), the main opposition in Peru’s congress, has called for an investigation into the “methodology and actions” of local polling companies – apparently because it does not like the results of recent surveys. This unusual initiative comes as President Martín Vizcarra presses ahead with his plans to bring Peru’s general elections forward by a year to April 2020, which he says is necessary to win a fresh mandate for deep anti-corruption reforms.
