On 8 September, Brazil’s federal attorney general Raquel Dodge appealed to the country’s supreme court (STF) over an issue of censorship at the Rio de Janeiro book fair (see below). With her two-year mandate at the head of the attorney general’s office (PGR) due to come to an end on 17 September, this will be one of the final motions that Dodge files with the STF in her current capacity. It comes amid questions over the future direction of the PGR and of the federal public prosecutors’ office (MPF) under the leadership of her likely successor Augusto Aras, handpicked by President Jair Bolsonaro.
