* Statkraft, a Norwegian state-owned energy company, has acquired three wind power projects from Torsa Chile SA (a subsidiary of Spanish company Torsa) in Chile's O'Higgins Region, with a total investment of approximately US$180m. In total, the three projects will have an average annual generation of approximately 300 GWh and are expected to provide energy to 100,000 homes.
Laine Powell, vice president of Statkraft South America, stated:
“With these three wind power plants operating, more than 100,000 tonnes of C02 per year will be replaced”.
