In brief: Spain’s Iberdola to invest R$1.9bn in Brazil wind power project

* Neoenergía, the Brazilian subsidiary of Spanish energy company Iberdrola, has announced the construction of the ‘Oitis’ wind power complex, which is expected to have an installed capacity of 566.5MW. The project, which will be located in the states of Piauí and Bahia, will comprise 12 wind farms and represents an expected investment of R$1.9bn (US$455.82m). Commercial operations are expected to commence in 2022, at which point the capacity of Neoenergía’s portfolio of assets in wind power operation is expected to reach 1.6GW.
