In brief: Argentina’s exports up 7.5% in August

* Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has released new figures which show that in August 2019 exports reached US$5.57bn, up 7.5% year-on-year, while imports reached US$4.4bn, down 30.3% year-on-year. This has produced a trade surplus of US$1.17bn compared with a trade deficit of -1.13bn in August 2018.
