In brief: Paraguay’s soya exports down 15.5% in first eight months of 2019

*According to a new report by the Paraguayan chamber of exporters and marketers of cereals and oilseeds (Capeco) circulated in the local media, in the first eight months of 2019, Paraguay’s soya exports totalled 4.5m tonnes (t), down 15.5% on the same period in 2018. According to the same report, which attributes the decline to mainly “climatic factors”, Argentina was the main market, accounting for 70% of exports followed by Russia (12%), European Union (10%) and Brazil (2%).
