In brief: Mexico’s trade surplus US$775m in August

* Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released new figures which show Mexico’s goods exports totalled US$40.4bn in August 2019, up 2.2% year-on-year. The same figures show imports reached US$39.66bn, a 5.9% reduction year-on-year. This left a trade surplus of US$775m in August 2019 compared with a US$2.58bn deficit in August 2018.
