* Paraguay’s central bank (BCP) has released new figures which show that the Paraguayan economy contracted by 3% in the second quarter of 2019, year-on-year. The statement attributes the economic decline to poor performance in the sectors of agriculture, manufacturing, construction, and electricity production although it notes a positive performance by the services sector.
