* The director of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) development centre,
Mario Pezzini, presented the third (and final) volume of the organisation’s ‘Multi-dimensional Review of Paraguay’. The report, which aims to promote sustainable and inclusive development, underlines the importance of reform in three areas: healthcare, including measures to widen coverage and increase efficiency of service provision; social protection, such as pension reforms to widen coverage; and education, to strengthen quality and inclusion, to generate skills needed for the economy. The report includes targeted action plans to stimulate these reforms and, according to the OECD, provides a “
dashboard of monitoring indicators to support the reform agenda in the country”.
