In brief: Peru’s exports down 8.1% in first eight months of 2019

* Peru’s central bank (BCRP) has released new figures which show that the country’s exports totalled US$3.14bn in the first eight months of 2019, down 8.1% on the same period in 2018. Imports in the first eight months of 2019 totalled US$3.6bn, down 5.7% on the same period in in 2018, resulting in a trade surplus of US$99m.
