Venezuelan migration to the English-speaking Caribbean
As the Venezuelan humanitarian crisis continues, millions of Venezuelans continue to flee the embattled country. As of June 2019, the United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHCR) reported that some four million people have fled Venezuela. While the vast majority of them have taken up residence in Latin America itself, especially in Colombia, which accounts for 1.3m Venezuelan migrants, Peru (768,000), Chile (288,000), Ecuador (263,000,) Brazil (168,000), and Argentina (130,000), English-speaking Caribbean countries, particularly Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago (T&T), have also experienced significant migrant flows across their borders.
