Guatemala’s child malnutrition epidemic hits hard

On 4 July, the local think tank Instituto Centroamericano de Estudios Fiscales (Icefi) presented the results of a 15-year study, conducted in conjunction with Oxfam, on child malnutrition in Guatemala. The institute concluded that politicians have a duty to stand up for the interests of children in the country, but factors such as low tax take limit the government’s ability to meet its responsibilities.
