On 15 October, ‘Noé’, a high-ranking leader of Salvadorean gang Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13), said that under a deal with the opposition Frente Farabundo Martí para la Liberación Nacional (FMLN) party, prisoners at the Apanteos facility in Santa Ana department told their visitors to vote for the FMLN ahead of 2014 presidential and 2015 legislative and municipal elections.
