In brief: Peru’s GDP up 2.82% in August

* Peru’s national statistics institute (INEI) has released new figures which show that GDP grew 2.82% in August year-on-year while the monthly increase was 3.39% – the biggest monthly increase so far this year. According to the report, this growth has been driven by mining and hydrocarbons, commerce, construction, telecommunications, manufacturing, agriculture, and hotels and restaurants, among other sectors.
