In brief: Benefits of USMCA ratification highlighted in Mexico

* Bilateral trade between Mexico and the US could quadruple under the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) regional trade agreement, US officials have said during the 17th Mexico Business Summit being held in Mexico’s Quintana Roo state. According to the US Republican party representative in Mexico, Larry Rubin, bilateral trade between both countries under USMCA could increase from US$620bn currently to almost US$1trn in just five years. The USMCA has so far only be ratified by Mexico, with the respective legislatures in Canada and the US still analysing the agreement.
