AlterPresse, the ministries of economy & finance; public works; and transport & communication are reviewing the contracts of Société Générale d’Énergie SA (Sogener), E-Power SA and Haytian tractor & Equipment CO SA (Haytrac). According to
AlterPresse, a report published on 20 October by the government’s bureau of monetisation programs and development aid (Bmpad) reveals that Sogener owes the state approximately US$194m due to debt incurred between June 2012 and March 2019.
Jean Marie Vorbe, CEO of Sogener, has since claimed that the Haitian state owes the electricity company more than US$202m.
