MEXICO | General Motors factories resume operations. Two General Motors (GM) manufacturing factories in Mexico announced on 26 October that operations would restart after being temporarily suspended due to ongoing labour strikes in the US. The motor plant in the Ramos Arizpe complex in the northern state of Coahuila restarted operations the same day; the transmission and ensemble plants in Ramos Arizpe and all plants in the Silao complex in Guanajuato state, two days later. The factories in San Luis Potosí and Toluca continued work throughout the 40-day strike. However, the Ramos Arizpe and Silao factories had to close due to the lack of incoming supplies from US factories that were on strike.
