In brief: Brazil’s coffee exports up 22.8% this year

* Brazil’s council of coffee exporters (Cecafé) has released its latest export results, according to which Brazil exported 3.4m sacks of coffee (one sack = 60 kg) in October, a 13.1% decrease on volumes exported in October 2018. The value of total exports for October fell 14.7% to US$441.1m, with the price of a sack of coffee averaging US$128.9 (a 1.8% decrease on the value of a sack of coffee in October 2018). However, exports increased over the course of January-October 2019, with Brazil exporting 34m sacks of coffee, a 22.8% increase on the volume exported during the same period in 2018.
