In brief: New Panama metro line won by HPH

* Metro de Panamá, the state-owned company that manages the Panama City metro system, has announced that the tender for the development of Line 3 of the Panama City metro system has been won by HPH Joint Venture, a consortium headed up by South Korean firm Hyundai Engineering & Construction. It beat Consortium ACPC Línea 3, made up of China’s Power Construction and Spain’s Acciona; China Railway Group Limited; and Consorcio Línea 3, made up of Mexican group CICSA and the South Korean SKEC to win the bid. Once Metro de Panamá officially awards the contract to HPH, it will have 54 months to complete the project.
