Supporters of Venezuela’s widely recognised interim president Juan Guaidó, motivated by mushrooming protests across the region, especially Bolivia, took to the streets in their largest numbers for several months on 16 November. Despite this, Guaidó has been unable to recover the optimism he inspired when he shot to prominence at the start of the year and his call for sustained protests is unlikely to be heeded given pervasive public fatigue.
