In brief: Brazil’s trade surplus lowest in four years

* The foreign trade secretariat in Brazil’s economy ministry has presented its latest trade balance figures, according to which the country registered a trade surplus of US$3.428bn in November. This is the lowest trade surplus registered for this month since 2015. The balance of trade for January-November 2019 has accumulated a US$41.079bn trade surplus, a 20.4% decrease on the trade surplus recorded over the same period in 2018.
