In brief: Exports down 11.9% in Colombia

*Colombia’s national statistics institute (Dane) has released export figures for October, with the total value of US$3.32bn representing an 11.9% decrease compared to October 2018. This is primarily the result of a 24.6% fall in exports of fuel and extractive products in October. This sector has faced a 10.1% decrease in exports in January-October compared to the same period in 2018, although the total sum of US$18.7bn still represents more than half of the US$33.2bn value of all Colombian exports in 2019 so far.
