In brief: IDB announces US$200m loan for Panama

* The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Panama’s economy ministry (MEF) have announced that the IDB has approved a US$200m loan to boost Panama’s competitiveness and emerging sectors. According to an IDB press release, the programme will contribute to benefit over 45,000 micro, small and medium enterprises, including sectors of the creative, digital and tourism industries. The US$200m loan has a repayment term of 15 years, a grace period of 5.5 years and an interest rate based on LIBOR.
