In brief: Unemployment in Chile is up slightly
* Chile’s national statistics institute (INE) has released the latest unemployment figures for the country, according to which the unemployment rate totalled 7% in October-December 2019, up from 6.7% over the same period in 2018. Unemployment fell 0.1 percentage points in October-December 2019 compared with the previous rolling quarter (September-November 2019), and remained unchanged from the 7% unemployment rate in July-September 2019.
