In brief: New report estimates cost of tax evasion in Peru

* Peru’s national tax administration and customs agency (Sunat) has released a new report which estimates that tax evasion represents some PEN$15.9bn in lost revenue a year. Sunat’s intendant for national strategy and risks Palmer De La Cruz said that regularising these operations could increase tax take by 9%. He added that tax take was expected to reach 14.9% of GDP this year, to reach PEN$122.97bn, up 11% on 2019.
