* Brazil’s national statistics institute (Ibge) has released the latest figures for the national consumer price index (IPCA) which show that monthly inflation stood at 0.21% in January 2020, down from 1.15% in December 2019, and 0.32% in January last year. Inflation for the 12 months to January 2020 totalled 4.19%.
