In brief: Argentina’s economy ministry hails meeting with IMF

* Argentina’s economy minister, Martín Guzmán, has met with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) technical mission currently in Argentina, led by IMF Assistant Director Julie Kozack and mission chief Luis Cubbedu, in what was described as a “constructive climate” in a brief statement by the economy ministry. The IMF mission arrived in Buenos Aires on 12 February and is due to stay until 19 February, to assess Argentina’s overall debt and economic outlook as well as to discuss the repayment of the US$44bn lent by the IMF to the Argentine government under the Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) reached with the Mauricio Macri administration (2015-2019).
