In brief: Private sector to spur Brazil growth, says CEO of Itaú BBA

*Brazilian corporate investment bank Itaú BBA has released its February 2020 economic outlook report in which it forecasts that Brazil’s economy will grow 2.2% in 2020. David Caio, Itaú BBA’s CEO, has echoed this prediction in comments to the press, noting that the scenario for growth in Brazil is interesting in light of the fact that local growth is currently driven by private sector actors, whereas in the past dynamic economic activity tended to be directly linked to public sector spending.
