In brief: EU removes The Bahamas from its grey list

* The European Council has announced that it has completely delisted The Bahamas from its list of non-cooperative tax jurisdictions. Also delisted were: Antigua & Barbuda, Belize, British Virgin Islands, St Kitts & Nevis. Panama was added to the black list – a move which has already prompted complaints from the Panamanian government – while the Cayman Islands was moved from the grey list to the black list. The first ever European Union (EU) list of non-cooperative tax jurisdictions was agreed by member states on 5 December 2017 as part of the EU’s work to fight tax evasion and avoidance.
