* Peru’s ministries of production and environment have issued a joint decree approving the ‘Roadmap to a Circular Economy in the Industrial Sector’, promoting a national transition from a linear to a circular economic model, in pursuit of more sustainable production. According to Environment Minister Fabiola Muñoz, the fundamental goal is for everything that is produced to eventually “become an input in the next production process”. The road map outlines short- and long-term actions in four categories: sustainable industrial production, sustainable consumption, use of waste material, and innovation. Muñoz claimed that even extractive industries will eventually be integrated into this circular economic model.
