In brief: Mexico-US agricultural trade up in 2019

*Mexico’s rural development & agriculture ministry (Sader) has released new figures which show US-Mexico agricultural trade was up 6% in 2019 to reach US$50.3bn. According to the Sader figures, Mexico’s agricultural exports to the US totalled US$31bn while imports totalled US$19.2bn, leaving Mexico with a trade surplus of US$19.2bn. Mexico’s main exports were: beer (US$3.06bn), avocados (US$2.45bn), tomatoes (US$1.98bn), tequila (US$1.82bn), and strawberries and blueberries (US$1.32bn).
