On 10 March, Brazil’s economy minister Paulo Guedes sent a letter to Davi Alcolumbre and Rodrigo Maia, presidents of the federal senate and chamber of deputies, respectively, in which he outlined the reforms that congress must approve to “shield” Brazil’s economy from a global downturn caused by the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic.
