In brief: Chile release latest GDP figures

* Chile’s central bank (BCCh) has released new figures which show the country’s GDP registered growth of 1.1% in 2019, the slowest in recent years. In its report the BCCh highlighted a 2.1% year-on-year contraction in the fourth quarter of 2019 as a result of the widespread social protests in late 2019 over inequality and the high cost of living.
