In brief: Argentina’s 2019 growth figures released
* Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has released figures which show that the country’s GDP contracted 2.2% in 2019. The same figures showed a 1.1% contraction in the fourth quarter of 2019 compared with the same quarter in 2018. While the 2019 annual figure is an improvement on the -2.5% GDP growth registered in 2018, the country’s economy is set to face further damage due to the impact of coronavirus (Covid-19).
