REGION: Argentina and Uruguay lead the way

Political reputations are made or destroyed in a crisis. It is clear that Latin American leaders and their governments are being severely tested by a massive external shock to the region, delivered by the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. Not all are doing well. The polling company Ipsos has completed a survey of attitudes to the health crisis across 14 Latin American countries. Respondents adjudged that the countries that are managing the crisis best are Argentina and Uruguay.
