In brief: Foreign investment falls in Colombia

* Colombia’s central bank (Banrep) has reported that foreign direct investment (FDI) to the country fell by 39.7% year-on-year in April, down to a total of US$667.7m. Banrep noted that the global economic turmoil caused by the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic left Colombia with a negative foreign investment balance in April, with a net outflow of US$115.7m, compared with a net inflow of US$919.8m in April 2019.
