VENEZUELA: US offers strong support for Guaidó assembly
On 29 May, US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo reiterated US support for Venezuela’s national assembly led by opposition leader Juan Guaidó (recognised by the US as Venezuela’s interim president), warning Nicolás Maduro’s government to “cease aggressions and hostilities against this body”.
