* Colombia’s national coffee federation (FNC) has reported that coffee production in May totalled 1.2m sacks (one sack = 60kg), a 6% increase on the 1.1m produced in the same month in 2019. CNC general manager, Roberto Vélez, noted with optimism that coffee production has remained steady throughout the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, attributing this to the authorities’ willingness to allow production to continue as long as health protocols were put in place.
