* Argentina’s economy minister,
Martín Guzmán, has announced that the government has extended the deadline for restructuring some US$66bn of sovereign bonds issued under international law to 19 June. In a statement, Guzmán explained that this latest extension, the fourth since Argentina presented its initial formal debt restructuring offer to bondholders on 22 April, will be used to further analyse recent suggestions from investor groups on ways to make
“potential adjustments”,
“improve costs” and so
“maximise the support of investors”. In a second statement also emitted on 12 June, Guzmán added that talks and nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) with creditors have been extended to 16 June. Meanwhile, President
Alberto Fernández confirmed that his government was working on an improved offer,
“an offer that moves a little closer to the creditors”.End of preview - This article contains approximately 129 words.
