* The World Bank’s board of directors has approved a US$70m loan for a project to improve water service delivery and strengthen water governance in selected areas of the so-called 'Dry Corridor' of Honduras (the Dry Corridor is the name given to the tropical dry forest region on Central America’s Pacific Coast that has been particularly impacted by climate change). The project, which will also see a US$15m contribution from the Honduran government and indirectly benefit 7,660 families in the area, involves investment in infrastructure to modernise the 'José Cecilio del Valle' dam, located in Francisco Morazán department, and the construction of four water storage and distribution systems known as integrated water security systems (SIAS), among other things.
