CHILE: Gov’t rejects ‘hibernation’ in Santiago

On 17 June, the Chilean government led by President Sebastián Piñera rejected the possibility of putting the Santiago Metropolitan Region (RM) in ‘hibernation’ to help stem the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) but announced the toughening of existing quarantine measures.
