In brief: OECD warns of unemployment in Mexico

* In its Employment Outlook report for 2020, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has estimated that unemployment in Mexico reached 7.2% in the second quarter of the year. However, this could increase to 7.5% by the fourth quarter if there is a second wave of the coronavirus (Covid-19). According to the report, Mexico saw one of the largest falls in hours worked (down 22%) among OECD countries during the first two months of the pandemic.
