In brief: More job losses in Mexico in June

* Mexico’s social security institute (IMSS) has released new figures which show that 83,311 formal sector workers lost their jobs in June, which it attributed to the impact of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. This follows the 344,526 formal sector job losses registered in May, and brings the total number of job losses in the first six months of 2020 to 921,583, 73% of which were permanent jobs.
