PERU: Corruption claims catching up with Vizcarra

“I have never received any bribe for any work in Moquegua [a region in southern Peru], nor in any part of Peru, nor anywhere in the world,” President Martín Vizcarra told investigative television programme Cuarto Poder on 18 October. For his political opponents, however - not to mention the growing list of prosecutors battling it out to take a lead on this case - Vizcarra’s word alone is unlikely to be enough to dismiss these allegations.
