BRAZIL: Mourão launches Amazon charm offensive
On 4 November, Brazil’s Vice President Hamilton Mourão, who heads the government’s Amazon council, travelled to the Amazon region with ten foreign ambassadors, with the objective of showing the diplomatic representatives the reality of deforestation in the Amazon, and the Brazilian government’s efforts to fight it.
