In brief: Chile sees biggest monthly inflation increase in a year

* Chile’s statistics institute (INE) has released new figures which show that monthly inflation in October 2020 was 0.7%, the largest monthly increase in a year, since October 2019 inflation came in at 0.8%. The October figure brings the accumulated rate for 2020 to 2.8%, and the 12-month rate to 3% - within the central bank's 3% target range. INE highlighted that increased prices of food and drink (non-alcoholic) and of clothing and footwear drove inflation in October.
