In brief: Inflation slows in Argentina

* Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has released the latest figures for the consumer price index (IPC), which show that monthly inflation stood at 3.2% in November, bringing annual inflation to 35.8%. This is down from the peak this year of 3.8% monthly inflation in October and the lowest year-on-year rate so far. Experts consulted by Argentina’s central bank (BCRA) earlier this month forecast inflation will close December at 36.7% while economy minister Martín Guzmán has said that this year inflation should close 20 percentage points less than in 2019, when it was 53.8%.
